Website of the Day!

Today's Website of the Day!

Google PageRank Calculator

Google PageRank Calculator tells you the PageRank (importance) of any site on the web. This is helpful because the only other way to access PageRank info is to use the Google Toolbar with (gosh!) IE.

UPDATE: Teja, in the comments section of this post, points out other ways to access the Google PageRank info without using IE! Try this site or this site.

UPDATE: Matt, again in the comments section of this post, points out this Firefox toolbar that gives you all of this info: Google PageRank, Google Category, Alexa popularity ranking, Alexa incoming links, Alexa related links and backward links from Google, Yahoo! and MSN.

Also in the comments section of this post, Stephen W. writes:

I have a Firefox bookmark that points to "http://www.googlecommunity.com/scripts/pagerank.php?url=%s" with the keyword set as "pagerank." This way, I can type "pagerank theurlhere" and get the pagerank result, just as I type "google keyword" for my google search. Handy little tool.

Actually you don't need to use IE or that site you mentioned to check a page's Pagerank. You can install this extension for Firefox to check PR:

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&category=Search%20Tools&id=262

Alternitively, you can get the whole google bar for Firefox with ability to check PR:

http://www.prgooglebar.org/

It doesn't have all the features that of actual Google bar, but it'll do. I just use the other checker that sits in task bar since it's lightweight and all.

There are also services like http://pagerank.net (bandwidth ran out for month) that let you check PR and do a bit more stuff. There is also a windows application that will let you check PR and get a few more results but I forget what it is, you need Google API account to use it, it was pretty cool, but it required iE unforunately.

I use the "searchstatus toolbar" extension for Firefox, which gives Google Pagerank and Alexa ratings.
